Hey everyone! How have you been? I truly hope that you have been happy and well. If you ever need anything that I can help with, please let me know.
This week has been pretty great. The weather has been crazy, though!! At the first of the week, we were in the 80's (I got a little bit sunburned!), but then on Sunday, it decided to snow a few inches..! Crazy weather here sometimes, but generally, it's great! :)
I am learning so much. I am given so many opportunities to learn and grow and develop Christlike qualities. I am grateful for the weeks when I don't see as much measurable success because I become more reliant on the Lord, and I am given the chance to develop attributes like patience and humility. The Lord is in charge, and I am always striving to give Him my heart, might, mind, and strength, and then trusting in Him.
Lydia Thompson was the potential we watched conference with last week. I am worried about her. She came to church on Sunday, and is trying to read from the Book of Mormon. She believes what we teach, but her husband doesn't know she is learning about and attending our church. He has "studied" a lot about us and is very against the Mormon church. She is afraid to tell him, but she really doesn't want to lie, either. Please keep her in your prayers because she is truly incredible and is truly prepared for the Gospel.
Jessica Vasquez wants to be baptized!!! She loves everything about this, and is just such a special daughter of God. She is worried about causing a rift in her family, though, because her ex-step-mom--the only person in her life closest to a mother--baptized her as an infant into the Catholic church. She is afraid she will be against it, and Jessica is such a peacemaker that she doesn't want to cause any more problems in her family. Pray for her, as well!!
Thank you for all that you do every day to represent our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He truly needs us.
Love,Sister Budge
p.s. The picture with the cats and the motorcycle was something we couldn't pass up. Elder Bowers saw the orange one and named him Garfield-then we saw the other one by him, and he named him Sylvester...the motorcycle just added to the whole thing. Good times. :)
