My dear, kind, loving, wonderful family!!!!!! You're so great, and I do miss you, but please--be happy for me! I love it here, as I said in my last letter....I would love to hear from you! Today--Saturday--is my P-day, so that is the day I get to check my email. I would love to get emails from you, but I would love even more to be able to get letters from you. I got my mail for the first time today, and Mari sent me a letter, so I was happy. :) I've been learning a lot, and the Spirit is always SOOO strong! I have an absolutely incredible district and zone and have become really close to my little "district family." We're going to take a picture as a district and a zone soon, so I'll have to send it to you so you can see my amazing friends and examples. :)
I have incredible teachers who's wisdom motivates me to be the very best I can be! I am learning the importance of setting goals, and it is helping me so much to be able to look at something visibly to see the changes that I need to make to improve.
Yesterday was kind of a hard day--I'll be perfectly honest with you. :/ Apparently it is really common for Sisters to feel the way that I did, though, so it's just a phase. My companion, Sister Furner, and my good friends from my district and roommates, Sister Jarvis and Sister Waite, were all feeling the same way. My companion and I gave our first lesson to a mock investigator (who was actually one of our teachers), and I guess it was just a really humbling experience...It's harder than you think!!! I guess I just felt really overwhelmed and inadequate. It's incredible what a half-of-a-P-day can do for you, though, and a good night's rest!! One of the branch Presidency's wives comes and checks on us every night before we go to bed, and the Sister who checked on us last night was so caring! She said just the right thing and gave us just the scripture we needed. It was Jacob 4:7--read it--it was incredible!! We also read a little card--I think it's called a ministerial certificate--and it said we were called of God to do this work. It was signed by President Monson--he has faith in me to stand as a witness of Christ!!! If the prophet of God believes in me, that gives me enough strength to do the work I'm called to do, as well. Don't worry about me! :)
My companion, Sister Furner, is from Farmington UT. Sister Waite is from Clifton, ID--she went to West Side and is a little dairy farmer. :) Sister Jarvis is from OR--she kind of reminds me of Denver because is loud, sarcastic, hilarious, and slightly rude, but not in a bad way... ;)
Sister Furner and I get along really well. I feel like we make up for one another's weaknesses big time! She is a red-head, and on the surface, she seems quiet and reserved, but really she is absolutely hilarious!! She is so chill, but sometimes she just comes out with these random funny things, and it's great! I love her and everyone around me so much!! I'm not just saying that, either--I am amazed at the capacity I have to love.
Everyone except Sister Furner and two other elders in my district are going to Fort Collins, along with everyone else in the other district in my zone, so I'm super excited to know so many people I'm going to be serving with! :)
I'm having honestly the best experience I have ever had. I love it, and I can already feel my testimony growing immensely! I love you and pray for you. :) Write back soon!!!!! <3
