It's been a really great week, filled with miracles. First miracle....DAN AND DIXIE CAME TO CHURCH! :) It was the first time they have come, and the subjects spoken about in Sacrament Meeting were perfect. We invite them every week, but they are so involved with their church that they never have any time. Well, on Thursday, we went to visit them (they live up in Nunn, along with a bunch of other people we are teaching--long ways up there! Who needs miles?! ;)). They weren't doing so well-Grandpa Dan went to the E.R. last week because his blood pressure dropped. We offered to have them receive Priesthood blessings, and they accepted. Brother Tanner, our ward mission leader, and another member, came up that night and gave the blessings. Dixie was in tears. I know that she feels the overwhelming power of the truthfulness of the gospel...she just needs to be able to break away from her other church. So on Saturday night, they called us and left a message saying they wanted to attend church!!! WHAT?! We missed the call and heard the message, planning on calling them back in the morning. Well, they beat us to it! We were so excited we couldn't stand it! :) We have been teaching them for months. The joy that I felt hearing that phone call and seeing them at church-that's the joy that keeps me going.
Martin is doing alright. I can see his perspective changing, but he is really really struggling with a lot of different things. We watched, "Joseph Smith-Prophet of the Restoration," (the long version :)) with him. He had a lot of questions afterwards-all the hard ones, like blacks and the Priesthood, polygamy, word of wisdom,...stuff like that. :) Hopefully we continue to see progression in him.
Guess what we did this week for service (we have to get 10 hours/week)??! :) We helped our investigator, Buff, with...well....defeathering her ducks!...? She went off the side to kill them-we didn't have to be a part of that-but we sure did get to pluck all their feathers out, which is super time consuming!!! Dang! It was definitely a memorable experience! We're helping her again next week!
Today we went to Fort Collins for a doctor's appointment, and we drove past the temple--there is actually framework up!!!!!!! I was so excited!!!
Love you all!! Remember to always pray to God. There is so much power in prayer. He very rarely answers us in the way we expect, but He always answers us in the way that is best for us. Be patient and trust Him-He will answer. He is very present in you life personally.
Love,
