Great week!!! There is soooo much less active work that needs to be done here!!! We got 11 less active lessons this week, and they've been known to get more than that here....shooting for more!! :) We're really focusing on retaining right now and on finding those who are lost. We both feel that right now, that is what is most important. If God feels to place someone else in our path, we will be ready, but our focus is on the lost sheep.
We had a really incredible experience with Serenity,, a less active/ convert of just a few years. I really felt a connection with her and her husband, John, right from the start. I feel that they are one of the many reasons why I was sent here. Serenity is a very intelligent and analytical person, but lighthearted at the same time. :) She is probably in her mid-twenties. ANYWHOO.... :) she has a lot of questions; things like not being able to believe that God is loving when there is so much trial and devastation in the world. She also believes in the trinity and takes the scriptures that say that God, Christ, and the Holy Ghost, are one, very literally. Miraculously, we were able to answer three of her questions....!!!!! THREE of them!!! That's unheard of! Go Spirit! :)
Our investigator, Carissa, is really doing well. She is 14, has the mentality of an 8-yr old, and is in foster care with some members in our ward. She really wants to be baptized, but has to get permission....so no date yet! Love her-she is the sweetest girl.
Lots of great lessons and experiences this week. I keep finding all these connections with people, and I keep meeting people whom I am probably related to! (helps that I'm so close to home, right?) :) I even met a person from Bear Lake the other day; still had a car that had a 2B license plate, and when he stepped out of the car at church, he instantly recognized me as the girl from Paris, Idaho. :) (Too bad I didn't recognize him...but it was great that he is from Bear Lake!! :))
Love you all!!! Have a wonderful week! Trust God and His timing, and have patience and faith in Him!
Love,
Sister Budge
