It's been a really great week!!! Transfers were this week, but for basically the first time since I was with my trainer, transfer day was just a normal day...! Sister Hay and I are both staying here in Wellington, in the same house, and everything--it's so great. :)
The highlight of the week was definitely with our new investigator, Arianna Thomas. Refresher--a few weeks ago, we were weekly planning. We went through the area book and found some old teaching records for a less active and his teenage kids--the Thomas family. About a week after that, we had about 15 minutes before an appointment. We felt like there was somewhere we needed to be, but we didn't know where, and it wasn't the names we had written down. We prayed, looked at our list of people we had made while weekly planning, and felt like we should visit the Thomas family, even though they were on the other side of town. We did. We found Brother Thomas out in his driveway, and he immediately recognized who we were. He said, "Crazy how the missionaries always show up in times of peril." They had a close friend who just passed away.
We stopped by a couple weeks later, and his daughter, Arianna, answered the door. After a visit with them, Arianna agreed to meet with the missionaries again. :)
On Friday, we went over with Samantha, our recent convert who is about the same age as Arianna and taught the first lesson. Samantha bore her testimony on the Restoration and the Book of Mormon, and it was so touching! She already wants to serve a mission--so proud of her. :) And she is the perfect fellowshipper for Arianna! :) Also, crazy thing that happened that wasn't a coincidence--before the lesson, we got into the back of our trunk to get a Book of Mormon for her, and it turned out that the Book of Mormon we happened to give her had just inside the front cover the testimony of one of the young women in our ward who is the same age as Arianna...!!!! Okay--that never happens...! She is just so incredibly prepared, and I'm so excited to be able to work with her. :)
Prayer is real. Faith is power. With God all things are possible.
Love,
Sister Budge
