So I sent you tons of pictures, but this is the real deal now. :) It's been a pretty great week-we're doing better with getting to know people and things like that. We've received a few referrals, so we're excited to check those out. We had some good memories this week. It's great to be able to just laugh at the awkward things that happen--and let me tell you, being a missionary is all about awkward times! Sister Strasser and I joke about how stalking people is what we do best. :) We went to a house that was an old referral to see if she still might be interested. We got to the doorstep and said, "Hi, are you the McGregors?" The guy said no, so Sister Strasser proceeded to ask, "Oh, well would you like to hear..." and the guy bluntly said no and shut the door as Sister Strasser, still smiling said, "Oh, that's cool too... :)." There was another time we tried to visit a member, but they weren't home. There were people right inside the window of the house next door, so we thought we would carol to them and possibly share a quick message. We started singing, and the lady answered the door, a huge barking dog at her heals. She promptly said, "...I'm just gonna let you go..." Our song was interrupted and everything....AWKWARD!!! :) Yeah, it's great....people think we're creepers all the time. Another lady was walking her dog with her little boy down the road while we were waiting at the doorstep of a house for them to answer the door. They didn't, so we walked back to the car, saying hello to the lady as we walked passed. She basically ignored us. Didn't even say hi back. Then we were sitting in the car for a few minutes, making phone calls and things, and she doubled back on her walk---we were still there in our car. She gave us a super scary look like we were going to hurt her child or something...yeah, pretty awkward business. :) Anyway, it's great to hear back from you!!! Dad, I'm so happy this job seems right! I feel like it's going to be much better, as well, and I'm excited to continue to hear how it goes for you. This Gary McKee is investing a lot in you, so I think that should mean something. It's crazy to hear about Holden and Hannah's adventures!! Gosh, pretty soon, Hannah will be able to drive and do these things by herself.... ;) I'm sure they're safe and making memories. :) That's good that you were able to babysit Richard, Mom, but I'm glad you get to enjoy the rest of the holidays, too. Are Holden and Hannah spending New Year's Eve down in Utah? Also, thank you so much, Mom, for all you do for me. It really means a lot to have a Mommy who is making sure that I have everything I need and who is taking such good care of me. :) Besides crazy stories, this week has been pretty good. It's been slow because everyone is gone for the holidays, but we've been able to see people when we need to see them. The Lord makes sure everything works out when we're being obedient. Well, I love you all so much and hope you have a wonderfully happy New Year!! Make some goals. Give a gift back to your Savior-remember when we did that? It's such a great thing to choose an area you can improve in and write it down and have that as something to work towards this next year as a way to show you love to the Savior. 'I challenge you to do this.'... ;) Oh, and P.S., I got little Christmas gifts and things from Kirk and Debbie Rich and Mark and Kris Peterson. I'm going to write thank-you's, but if you see them, be sure to express my gratitude. Also, Carrie sent me a cute Christmas card, as well as a little picture with Mom's little letter--could you let her know I appreciate that? Idk if that is something I should write a thank-you for or not... I asked Devin for his email, but I'm not sure if I remember it right. Is it [email protected]? I would love to add both him and Austin to this email list. :) Ann and Susie sent me super sweet Christmas cards, as well, and if you could give me their emails to add, that would also be great!! Maybe for now if you could forward this to them, I would appreciate that, and send them my thanks! :) For real now, I love you all, and wish you the best!! You're in my prayers! Happy holidays! <3
