So....not probably going to send a weekly email this week-don't freak out. I just don't have a whole lot to say to the general public.
It's been a really rough week; like Sister Hardy told you, Sister Martinez went to the ER on Saturday. But hey-she's still alive, right? That's a plus... :) She had gotten rear-ended in a car accident back in November, and it had messed up her shoulder, but she didn't get it fixed or anything because she's been transferred all the time. The guy who hit her's insurance wanted to settle, so she had to go in to get her shoulder fixed and everything beforehand.
We went to a doctor in Fort Collins who gave her a cortizone shot in her shoulder. She reacted adversely somehow, whether he hit a nerve or the medication wad too strong. She has been in cruciating pain. She got a blessing from the Elders on Friday night, which helped through the night, but then midmorning on Saturday, it was worse. Her arm started going numb, and she was getting electric shocks all the way up her arm and neck. We went to urgent care, but they couldn't help us, so we took her to the ER. (we had to talk to and inform our mission pres.'s wife during all this...they hate it whenever a missionary goes to the ER... :/)
So yeah!! Went to the ER...waited forever to be seen since it was also the trauma center...they gave her some NORCO and a sling.
Let it be known that she is VERY sensitive to drugs...so she doesn't even remember the past two days. We've been giving her narcotics every 6hrs, and she's basically been sleeping the past two days straight. I just wanted my companion back!!!!! She can't hardly talk, think, walk, or any of the above. It's been really rough, but mainly because we don't see an end in sight. We were told from the ER that we needed to see the doctor who gave her the shot, but their office told us there wasn't anything they could do for her...SO FRUSTRATING!!! Anyway, I guess we're going to go to a physical therapist this afternoon to get her checked out-that's what the doctor in Fort Collins suggested. I'll keep you posted next week, but we NEED all the prayers you can possibly give us. She is in a lot of pain, and just, you know, stressed and burned out. So yeah!!! Like I said--we're both still alive! What a blessing. :)
It's good to hear about the reunions! I'll be back for them next year, if I'm not working! Idk where I want to work or what I'm doing with my life when I get home....where I'm going to school or what. Guess we'll find out!!! Haha...yeah. And as far as sending more DGL--I'm good for now. Thanks!! :)
Love you all sooo much!!! (Holden--I was looking forward to hearing from you--hopefully I get your email next week!)
