Wow, so what a week!!! As a lot of you are probably aware, it has been absolutely FREEZING up here!!! My gosh--one day, we're great, and the sun is out, and the next this Arctic Freeze suddenly hits for the whole week...!! So yeah, good stuff--I'm just incredibly grateful for our car and for people who let us in their homes. :)
We have a new investigator! Her name is Linda, and she was a Mormon.org referral (those things do work!! :))!! She is a single middle-aged woman who seems super excited and intrigued to learn more. She is searching--she's Christian, but has been attending several different churches. Her interest started with hearing about the Word of Wisdom, interestingly enough. She is even writing a paper on it for school. :)
So Sunnie's 17-yr old daughter, Taylor, was baptized this weekend!!! Sunnie said that it was incredible and that Taylor just glowed. We're really hoping this will be a great motivation for Sunnie to start coming back to church! :)
Jay is struggling lately, which is rough; we had an amazingly powerful lesson last week where we were super bold. We even brought Karen, who was excommunicated but came back strong, and we knew she could relate and help him. It was exactly what he needed--to be broken so he could heal the proper way. I am just worried that he has resorted instead of pouring his heart out to God, to his girlfriend who isn't a member or to other means....keep him in your prayers.
Things are good, though!!! We had a mission tour where we were able to have Elder Baxter from the Quorum of the Seventy come to our mission. It was incredible--he seriously said exactly what our mission needed to hear. He really built us up, as the Adversary is working so hard to tear us down. At the end he promised us, once again, we would be blessed. He said, "I invoke every blessing of Heaven on you and your family. I bless you that you will feel it." He also reminded us of the powerful promise given in Preach My Gospel that, "All that is unfair about life can be made right through the Atonement of Jesus Christ."
I love you all, and hope that every blessing of Heaven will be available to you according to your faith.
Love,
Sister Budge
