Great week!!! Monday started off great--we got to go ice skating with the Windsor Sisters, Sister Woessner and Sister Passey--good times!! Sister Martinez had never been, so we had a blast! And then.....well, you can see from the pictures!! ;) I cut it all off--10 inches! I donated it to locks of love. And then, Sister Martinez dyed my hair a couple shades darker--I actually love it!! Why didn't I do this before?! Oh, and I didn't notice until the end of the day, but Monday was also my 8 month mark! :)
On Tuesday we went on exchanges; Sister Passey and I stayed in the Severance Ward. We had an appointment with our investigator, Katy Talbot, and it went really well. I just love Katy! We haven't been able to see her in awhile because she's been so busy this summer and has been gone all the time (places like Mexico for two weeks--no big deal! ;)). We've seen her the last couple of weeks, though, and she's ready to really start delving in. School starts this week, so that helps! We talked a lot about the difference between the influence and the gift of the Holy Ghost, and she was very interested. She wants the fullness of the gospel, but it is just really hard for her to change at this point in her life. She and her husband are kind of struggling with their marriage right now, and the church they go to together is one thing they have in common. :/ She told us she would have willingly accepted, and it would have been a lot easier to be baptized, if she were younger and without a family. We bore testimony about the power of God and told her it wasn't going to be easy. We promised here she would receive strength and answers to her prayers. She is an incredible daughter of God, and I know that she will make the right decision when the time is right.
We met with Kendra this week, as well, and got the chance to just sit and talk with her. She really needed someone to listen, because she is dealing with a lot right now. Her family is not supportive of her decision to join the church, and they are saying things like, "Everyone keeps saying they notice a change in you, but we don't see anything different!' She was working two jobs, but quit one; that should help relieve some stress! I am so glad she has the support of friends and the members in all of this! She needs prayers!
Saturday nights are now our designated movie/game nights with Martin! :) We watched the Testaments this week with him, and the spirit was definitely strong. We asked him afterwards if he would come to church the next day...he said he would consider it. That's huge!! He didn't actually end up coming this week, (long story...:/), but I truly believe he will! He is definitely progressing, and I am so excited to see his growth! :) Oh yeah, and last week he came with us and his family to the BYU-Idaho Dancers performance! It was a blast!! :)
The work is progressing! I almost feel selfish because of how much I get out of it and because of how much I'm learning! :) Keep holding firm to the rod, the word of God, that will enable you to partake of God's light. He longs for us not only to know the doctrine, but to truly understand it-that is where His light is felt. We can feel of His love and His light if we are only open to receive it, if we keep His commandments, and if we exercise faith in Him. (D&C 93--please read it!)
Love you all!!!! :)
Love,
Sister Budge
Super cute kids!!! Long story....they're potential/ less actives... :) We had an eventful week with them, but that's a story for another time! Their favorite story was "Five Little Monkeys,"....I read it to them like 10 times!! Haha :)

My Hair!!
So....we did service as a zone at a community breakfast in Milliken that the Fire Department puts on. Super great times!!!!!! And well,...when it was over, we found ourselves sort of...blocked off from going anywhere because of the parade they were having. SO.....we just decided that no one would notice if we just joined the parade for a couple of blocks!!!!!!!!!!!!! Like I said....good times!!! ;)
